The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. NSPL is committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness.

Chase Rankin, Player of the Week
Chase Rankin, Player of the Week
Magee High School is proud to announce our Player of the Week, Chase Rankin. Chase is a senior at Magee High School and has played football at Magee for the past four years. Last week, playing against Velma Jackson, Chase demonstrated the Trojan Spirit. He had 11 total tackles, with 5 being solo tackles, and completed a fumble recovery for a touchdown. His efforts brought his 2018-19 Trojan football stats to 56 total tackles, 27 solo tackles, and 6 points. Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Teddy Dyess stated about his spirit, “Chase has really bought into what we are trying to do as a program. He has become a leader in the halls and on the field.” His drive and determination in the game is what earned him the MHS Player of the Week.
Abby Myers, Player of the Week
Abby Myers, Player of the Week
Magee High School is proud to announce its Player of the Week, Abby Myers. Abby is a sophomore at Magee High School and has played varsity volleyball for MHS her eighth grade, freshman, and sophomore years. Head Volleyball Coach, Kendria Young stated, “Last week against the Mississippi School for the Deaf, Abby led the team in serving aces with 6 and digs with 5. She aided defensively with 2 blocks.” With last week’s stats, those bring Abby’s 2018-19 volleyball record to 9 attacking, 9 serving aces, 9 serving points, 3 blocking assists, 1 dig, 2 ball handing, and 11 serve receiving credits. Coach Young expressed, “Abby brings positive energy to the entire floor. She is the example of what a captain should exude. She is vocal; constantly directing teammates where to be; and always trying to keep them uplifted when things are not going our way. Her hustle and IQ have been a large piece of our success and a part of the turn around.” Her winning spirit and the energy she brings to the court is what earned Abby MHS Player of the Week.
